Willingness to communicate in relation to language use among Pakistani undergraduates: A sociocultural perspective

This study aimed to investigate English as a second language (ESL) undergraduates’ sociocultural perspective of willingness communicate (WTC) in inside the classroom relation use outside classroom. The participants were 440 ESL undergraduates selected through cluster sampling method from eight universities Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province Pakistan. data collected questionnaires on WTC and findings revealed that participants’ level was high for most social interactions within classroom, such groups, during activities, with same gender, when given preparation time groups. showed mixture languages, Pashto Urdu, predominantly used family, neighbourhood friendship, religion, education, transaction domains. In contrast, primarily mass media Moreover, positively correlated media, education domains but negatively family domain.
